What is a good math and reading app for kids?
A good math and reading app for kids keeps practice short, adapts to the answers your child really gives, brings mistakes back for another go, and tells you plainly what happened. That is the job we built Brainy Bucks to do: a 5, 10 or 15 minute daily quest of math, reading and phonics, and a one-sentence weekly summary for the grown-up.
Nothing in the preview above is saved or sent anywhere. The app works the same way: no accounts, no ads, no chat.

Which math and reading skills it covers
Subject
Skills
Math
Counting, place value, the four operations, fractions, decimals, money, time, measurement, geometry, data, word problems, ratios and early algebra
Reading
Phonics, rhyming, sight words, spelling patterns, vocabulary, main idea, sequencing, inference, context clues and short original passages
Deepest coverage: Kindergarten to Grade 4. If your child is in middle school, expect thinner content.
Mistakes become comebacks
There are no lives to lose and no red X. A wrong answer gets a clue and a second try. Missed questions come back in later quests, and skills that went well are checked again days later to see whether they stuck. Practice that remembers what your child forgot is the whole point.
One design decision we made
Every buddy, egg and vault is earned by practicing. Child Mode never shows a price or a buy button, and the real-life rewards are ones you create and price yourself, redeemed only with your parent PIN. A kids' app should not be a shop with homework in it.
Free vs Plus, plainly

Parents' questions
What ages is Brainy Bucks for?
Content spans Pre-K to Grade 8, with the deepest coverage from Kindergarten to Grade 4. Difficulty adapts to the answers your child actually gives.
Is Brainy Bucks free?
One adaptive Today's Quest every day is free, with no time limit, plus 3 extra quests a day, hints, second tries, spaced review, the weekly summary and learning plan, a Brain Buddy, one real-life reward and a starter activity set. Brainy Bucks Plus (monthly, yearly or one-time Lifetime) adds unlimited quests, the full practice library, weekly and monthly reports, the full activity collection, all buddy growth stages and unlimited rewards. Family Plus covers up to 4 child profiles.
Are there ads or in-app purchases my child can tap?
There are no ads. Child Mode shows no prices or purchase buttons; purchases and settings sit behind a parent PIN. Every in-game reward is earned by practicing, and nothing is sold to children.
Does my child need an account?
No. There are no accounts, no chat and no third-party analytics. Learning data stays on your device, and the app works offline.
Can it help a child who is still learning to read?
Yes. Tap the speaker to hear any question and its answer choices read aloud, on the device and offline. Reading practice covers phonics, rhyming, sight words, spelling patterns, vocabulary and short original passages.
How long is a quest?
Today's Quest is a 5, 10 or 15 minute mix of new skills, review and earlier mistakes. There are also 90-second Brain Sprints and boss battles.
Is the parent report a formal assessment?
No. Skill statuses are based only on answers given in the app. Treat them as a conversation starter with your child's teacher, not a grade.
